For the longest time, I thought Awakening/Self Realisation was a far off destination, that most likely would not be achieved in this lifetime. I was wrong.
I thought Awakening was this ‘achievement’, a moment when flowers would bloom and sing, rainbows and butterflies would burst all around me (OK, I’m exaggerating now, but you know what I mean). Mostly, that my body would disappear into the cosmos and I would vibrate into the air. Or I would change in some significant way. No. But yes. Not physically. Not mentally (being the mind). But deeper. A shift of consciousness (here, I suggest reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle to deeply understand this sentence.)
But here I sit in front of my laptop, in my funky local cafe (blasting old school jams) physically same as before. But I Know that I have ‘arrived’, ‘awoken’. I Know because now I understand! I am still understanding, I will always be a student and learning. My Presence practice is continuous I understand that the reason why it’s referred to as an ‘awakening’ it because the ‘destination’ is in fact a ‘realisation’, ‘an opening of the eyes’, ‘awakening from slumber’. That part of us, that is sleeping, and ‘encased’ in Ego (thinking) and Pain-body (emotions).
I feel, because I have only just arrived, my ‘journey’ is still fresh and I can still relate to the feeling of ‘searching’ which you may still be feeling.
What is the purpose of this site? My intention on this site is not to convince, persuade, force, plead, demand anything of you. Its purpose is to simply, ‘point the way’. It is simply, sharing. I have travelled down that road and have ‘arrived’. There is so much to see and understand ‘here’, so I am still experiencing, learning and absorbing ‘here’.
I am sharing the experience on my ‘journey’ to help with your journey. If you feel that it resonates in any part, wonderful! If you do not, I sincerely wish you peace, love and light in your life. Although without this journey, you might find it difficult to find lasting inner peace.
There are many great teachers who share their wisdom in its entirety, depth and vastness. Sometimes these great masterpieces of knowledge are daunting to read. Complex. Esoteric. A riddle. Too deep, too vast to initially comprehend, until much later.
I feel my contribution here is to simply be a middle person (a stepping stone), who can try and instil the essence of these great teachings into a simplified form that I have broken down for my own understanding. May it spark or resonate with any reader and inspire your next ‘steps’.
What’s in it for you? The joy of sharing. Also, by practising to express my journey and lessons learnt along the way, it helps deepen my practice. No, there is no monetary gain. No affiliations. Nothing to sell. What’s here comes mostly from my own experience, my ‘practice’, and the few books I have read to understand the ‘theory’ and deeper wisdom others have experienced and shared.
Why should I keep reading? You don’t have to do anything :) But if you’re still reading, you may find something here that you feel connected to. An ‘ahah!’ moment. A ‘Yes, I think I know what she is going on about!’ If so, I hope it points you to another stepping stone.
I feel, because I have only just arrived, my ‘journey’ is still fresh and I can still relate to the feeling of ‘searching’ which you may still be feeling. If you’re still reading, you may be so close. That little bit of help/nudge when I felt I most needed it, helped me immensely. I would like to pay that kindness forward.
How do you know you have ‘just arrived’? I just Know. And I am at peace. I am no longer ‘searching’. I am now, simply deepening my understanding of ‘what is here’. But I do feel compelled to share.
Are you teaching? No. I am a student. I have so much more to learn and at no point profess to be an expert or teacher. What I write about is my own reflections and experiences. And I am sharing it with anyone who wants to read it. I am basing this only on my own experiences, no other credentials. But if my sharing this with you stirs something deep inside, go experience it for yourselves, don’t take my word for it! You can read every book or blog ever written on this, but until you practice it, you will never truly experience it.
Lastly, my deepest thanks to the guides and mentors who have helped me arrive inwards. Some have been on my journey for many years, some fleeting moments, and some I have never met or they know my name. Your contribution in my journey is significant nonetheless. Thank you for sharing your light with me.
In love and light,
Kim xx
